My New Knife - The Emerson Combat Karambit

So this is totally awesome. I had originally intended to get a special custom knife designed for a store in Virginia called Extreme Outfitters. I had done a bunch of research on these knives before and had searched for any store that sells them. The problem with that is these knives are average price of $230. So not many stores will carry them because people often think that a knife is a knife is a knife. If you know anything about knives, you will know that this is not true. Not all knives are created equal!

The knife that I had originally decided to get was called a SOCFK-B, the custom knife designed for Extreme Outfitters. I decided to save up for it and go get it. It runs around $150 or so. I went out there yesterday and was talking to this guy named Frankie (he’s good friends with Emerson, hence the reason the store has a custom knife.) Anyways, I was talking to Frankie and told him I was looking at the Combat Karambit before I had decided on the SOCFK-B (mostly because of the price!) This knife runs around $236 brand new. Frankie told me that he has a personal one of those he’s never had to use before, and that he would sell it to me for $150 flat. Pretty awesome. It was an awesome deal I just couldn’t pass up. Here is a picture of it:

Pretty awesome yeah? I love this. There is a neat feature called the “Wave Feature” you can see it in the picture. It looks like a little horn on the back end of the blade. This feature allows you to open the knife just by pulling it out of your pocket. If you want to see some of this in action, head on over to www.emersonknives.com and browse around.
